EIA approaches expanding to technical and vocational education sector

EIA has partnered with SDP (Skills Development Project) a 5-year project under DTE (Directorate of
Technical Education) funded by ADB (Asian Development Bank). Through this partnership, EIA will be reaching over 20,000 students in the Technical Schools and Colleges around Bangladesh.

This new initiative was launched through a one day orientation programme with 64 Principals from 64 TSCs. This was followed by a two days’ workshop with 128 English Instructors from those institutes.

These TSCs follows the secondary curriculum and SDP arranged relevant equipment (technology) used by EIA like mobile, SD cards, and speaker. EIA provided audio-video and printed materials for the teachers and facilitated the training.

Instructors of these TSCs have started applying EIA methodology in the classrooms of grades IX & X.
EIA arranged three days’ workshop additionally for 20 Instructor Facilitators from the cohort who will be facilitating the follow-on meetings with other instructors on bi-monthly basis.

This is a sixteen month collaboration between DTE and EIA. This partnership marks an opportunity for EIA in expanding its innovative approaches to the technical and vocational education sector.
