EIA arranged workshops for the Master Trainers (MT) of English Subject based Training during January to March this year. It is the first event for the MTs arranged by EIA.

There are 112 Master Trainers for English Subject in primary sector and EIA have reached 87 of them in four batches (Dhaka, Khulna, Brahmanbaria and Bogra).

The workshop focused on the integrated content of EIA with Subject Based Teachers’ Training (SbT) manual of DPE (Directorate Primary Education) in English subject.

Mr. Md. Alamgir, Director General, DPE, Mr. Md. Hamidul Haque, DG NAEM, Ms. Sue Williamson, EIA Team Leader, Mr. Siddiqur Rahman, EIA PD were present in the orientation workshop amongst others.

Core Working Group (CWG) members from SbT, DPE and EIA Coordinator Teacher Development jointly facilitated the training sessions. The aim of the Master Trainer Workshop is to help them to understand the integrated content deeply and bring them into practice.

In 2014, DPE decided to incorporate some of EIA contents and approaches into the English SbT manual. A working group (CWG) consisting of DPE, PTI & EIA representatives coordinated this assignment. They reviewed both the SbT & EIA modules and identified specific areas for integration. Finally, an advisory committee, chaired by Mr. Sanjoy Kumar Chowdhury, DPE Director-Training, reviewed and approved the integration.
