A high level delegation of the Government of Bangladesh, led by the Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MoPME), visited The Netherlands for a week in October 2011. The visit provided a great opportunity for the senior GoB officials to observe communicative approaches in (English) teaching and learning, and the impact these have on education policy, student assessment and the use of technology in education. The host institutions learnt about the exciting and innovative developments currently happening in the education sector in Bangladesh. The GoB Delegation is convinced about the value EIA brings to teaching and learning in schools in Bangladesh. The Secretary expressed his determination to ensure that EIA approaches and methods will be firmly embedded within existing GoB education sector frameworks and programmes.
