EIA made an impact at this years’ Nepal English Language Teachers (NELTA) conference with four papers presented by the team! The annual conference (27th February –1st March, Kathmandu) is an important regional and international platform for EIA to publicise its model, approach and impact to ELT practitioners and academics.
Initial findings were presented from the 2013 Perceptions study – on teachers’ and students’ views of ELT and learning. Furthermore, papers were given on the topics of: monitoring of a large-scale language education programme; ICT use in classrooms throughout the year; and teacher facilitators’ professional development.
Four members of the team attended – Dr. Isbaelle Perez-Gore, Shajedur Rahman, Naznin Akter and Sonia Burton. Researchers from EIA’s partner – the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of Dhaka – also presented at the conference.
The conference provided networking opportunities with practitioners and researchers in the field of education and was learning platform for the team.
