On 24 November 2014, EIA organised an event to welcome the new Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), Mr. Md. Alamgir. The social event was attended by officials from DPE and EIA management.

EIA Project Director, Marc van der Stouwe, in his welcome speech thanked DG, DPE and looked forward to his continuous support to change classroom practices through use of EIA approaches. Former DG, DPE, Mr. Shayamal Kanti Ghosh was also present in the event.

Carolyn Sunners , Head Human Development, DFID Bangladesh; Johan Bentinck, Team Leader, EIA; and Tom Power, Programme Director, EIA, The Open University UK were present amongst others in the occasion.
